I started getting more into the clothes I put on back in
2003, when the Converse Weapons were back out and a lot of people were rocking
them. From that point on, I started to actually pay attention to what I would
put on because I began to get praised and it felt good for getting recognition
for my style. I definitely let my style express who I am and how I feel. I
dress distinctly from others because I’m truly an individual; don’t get me
wrong, I don’t try to be different. If the next man is wearing something pretty
fly and it represents something I’m about I won’t feel awkward wearing the same
thing, I’ll just wear it my way. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t have
influences because I definitely have realized a few of them. I admire the
fashion sense of Kid Cudi, Kanye West, Fabolous, and Jay-Z (Those guys never
have a bad look to me). They’re trendsetters; however I don’t follow every
trend that they set. You won’t see me wearing a kilt like Kanye and you won’t
see me getting a perm or tattooing my hands like Kid Cudi or wearing Balmain
Leather Shorts like he does. That’s another important thing about me, I may be
very fashionable but I try to live within my means. I’m a college student; why
would I be trying to buy Balmain? I don’t care if everyone is wearing it; I
won’t be spending thousands on Givenchy. Like I said; I’m truly an individual,
so brand names don’t impress me. I can wear Gucci Monday, Gap on Tuesday, and a
friend’s brand on the weekend just to support. As long as it looks right on it
and me represents my lifestyle, I’ll wear it the right way. I’ll wear it my
way.
